Meet some of our team members!
From the outside, Pax8 might seem like just a tech company rapidly growing due to the demand for cloud products. But if you take a closer look, you’ll see that it’s the people of Pax8 who are driving our growth.
In this article, you’ll get to know some of these wonderful people. They work in different departments and come from different backgrounds — but by bringing their unique qualities to Pax8, they’ve made the company more diverse, interesting, and successful.
From how they would survive a zombie apocalypse to a passion for everything space science, these Pax8 team members are ready to share their passions and stories with you.
Meet Dominickus “Dom” Wells, Vendor Acquisition Manager
What is your role at Pax8, and how long you’ve been here?
I am the Vendor Acquisition Manager, so I assist with the discovery and evaluation of new solutions for our line card! I’ve been at Pax8 for almost 3 years now.
What is the most rewarding thing about working at Pax8?
Simply watching the rocket ship go as we build it. Every time a challenge comes up, we overcome it and it’s been an incredibly exciting ride!
When you were a kid, what did you want to be or do when you grew up?
Growing up I’ve always wanted to be an astronaut. Life kind of got in the way of that, but I guess the rocket ship analogy still applies here.
What was the worst style choice you ever made?
JNCO jeans – need I say more?
You have your own late night talk show. Who do you invite as your first guest?
It would probably be Neil deGrasse Tyson. I’m a huge science nerd and would love to pick his brain on quantum mechanics.
Meet Christine Moore, Director of Total Rewards
What is your role at Pax8, and how long you’ve been here?
I am the Director of Total Rewards, which means I oversee our compensation and benefits strategy. I’ve been with Pax8 for over a year and a half.
What past experiences or lessons do you bring to your current role?
I started my career in compensation consulting and have brought that consultative experience to Pax8 where I partner with internal clients to understand their needs and give guidance on potential solutions.
What’s something that you’re passionate about (that isn’t the cloud)?
I love to spend time outside (running, biking, hiking, etc.)
If you had to delete all the apps off your phone except 3, which would you choose and why?
1. NYT Crossword – I also love to challenge my brain and this app is my go-to when I’m trying not to get sucked into other mindless apps
2. Weather Channel App – I like to be prepared and plan for what’s coming
3. Ten Percent Happier Meditation App – During the pandemic I have started meditating regularly and using this app has helped me immensely!
You have to sing karaoke, what song do you pick and why?
Funny you should ask, my original Pax8 fun fact was that I had a phobia of doing karaoke until 2019, when I was challenged to do it and found that it’s SO MUCH FUN! I like to sing “Dancing Queen” by ABBA because I love disco music and dancing. Plus, I’m guaranteed to get others to join me on stage and the more the merrier!
Meet Nicole Maile, Channel Account Manager
What is your role at Pax8, and how long you’ve been here?
I am a Channel Account Manager supporting named accounts and I’ve been at Pax8 for almost 8 months! My role involves strategic conversations with our partners around how we can drive modern workplace adoption, help enable their sales and technical teams to successfully position solutions to their clients, and ways to creatively drive business together.
What does a typical day at work look like for you?
Every day is different and that is what I like about my role. My day is usually filled with partner meetings that are focused on business development and growth strategies. When I am not on calls, I am collaborating with my team and continuing to educate myself through training.
Where do you consider “home” to be, and how has that shaped you as a person?
I am originally from Buffalo, NY but I moved to Denver two years ago! Buffalo will always be home because that is where I grew up, where most of my family lives, and where I first started in the IT industry. However, moving to Denver has allowed me to grow more, both personally and professionally.
What is your spirit animal, and why?
A cat! I would sleep all day if I could. My friend once told me, “You’re like a cat, the only way to get you out of bed is to lure you with food.”
If a movie was made of your life, what genre would it be, and who would play you?
It would probably be an adventure/comedy movie with Tina Fey! I really love to travel, and I like to think I’m pretty funny. I make myself laugh all the time!
Meet Josh Adams, Integrated Campaign Analyst
What is your role at Pax8, and how long you’ve been here?
I’ve been an Integrated Campaign Analyst on the Pax8 marketing team for almost 6 months. I set up and run ads on Facebook, Google Analytics, and other platforms to generate leads for the business and I’m also helping to develop our performance reporting.
Why did you want to work at Pax8 and what did you find most attractive about the company?
My roommates from college are all software engineers and they made working in tech sound awesome! I also saw this as an amazing opportunity to grow my skills as a marketing analyst because of the tools and tactics that Pax8 uses to reach its target audience.
What is a saying, mantra, or philosophy that you lean on when the going gets tough?
My favorite quote is John 15:13, “No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” As a Catholic, I’m reminded that my faith is founded on loving those around me. If things aren’t tough once in a while, then I’m doing something wrong.
In the event of a zombie apocalypse, what are your three must-have items as you escape the brain-eating undead?
That’s tough… I’d have to go with a fishing pole, my truck, and for sure a chainsaw.
If you were a wrestler what would be your entrance theme song?
Mama Said Knock You Out by LL Cool J.
When you partner with Pax8 or join our team, you’re not just another cog in the machine. Our employees bring their stories with them into their roles. They show the industry that it’s possible to love the cloud, love your job, and love other things outside of the cloud.
The people of Pax8 are the secret to our company’s success.
